ASCAT wind retrievals contained widespread #storm and #hurricane force wind barbs near the powerful low pressure over the central Atlantic this morning -- this is the same low generating seas near 60 feet. The barb color to wind speed legend is at the top right of the animation. #SatWind #MarineWx

RGB Air Mass imagery captures a powerful low pressure system producing #hurricane-force winds and 30 to 40 ft waves across the central Atlantic.
Another low pressure (just offshore across the Gulf Stream) is forecast to rapidly intensify while lifting northeast over the next 24-48 hours, and is forecast to increase winds to 85 kt while building seas to 18 meters (60 feet).
