Capacity Grants

NIFA provides support for research and extension activities at land-grant institutions through grants to the states on the basis of statutory formulas. Eligibility is limited to the cooperating institutions, most of which are 1862, 1890, and 1994 land-grant institutions. NIFA capacity grants are subject to the same OMB Circulars and Department regulations, with the exceptions identified in the NIFA Regulations.

Plan of Work ReDesign: Institutional Profile

Institutional Profile is the result of the recent Plan of Work (POW) redesign effort. The Institutional Profile module is available for FY 2020 Plan of Work reporting activities and subsequent reporting fiscal years.

The current POW system will be available for completing all FY 2018 and FY 2019 POW reporting activities.

Please visit Plan of Work (POW) and REEport Integration: Institutional Profile for more information on the new Plan of Work known as the Institutional Profile. The new POW is part of an ongoing collaborative effort to work together with land-grant university (LGU) partners to find innovative solutions for meeting the legislative requirements of the Agricultural Research, Extension, and Educational Reform Act of 1998 (AREERA), improve data quality, and lessen reporting burden.
