- You can view your Social Security Statement online by creating an account and signing in with us.
- Block online and automated telephone access to your personal information.
- Create a my Social Security account to:
- Get your benefit verification letter (includes Medicare and SSI);
- Check your information, benefits, and earnings record;
- Change your address and telephone number;
- Start or change your direct deposit;
- Get a replacement Medicare card;
- Get a replacement SSA-1099 or SSA-1042S for tax season; and
- Report your wages if you work and receive Disability Insurance benefits.
- You do not need a my Social Security account to:
- Select or change the way you receive information from Social Security if you are blind or visually impaired.
- Block electronic and automated telephone access to your personal information.
- Apply for extra help with your Medicare prescription drug plan costs.
If you need to submit monthly paystub information to SSA:
- You can create a my Social Security account with us and submit your paystub information at any time.
- Create a my Social Security account to:
- Get your benefit verification letter (includes Social Security and Medicare);
- Check your information, benefits, and earnings record; and
- Report your wages if you receive SSI or are a spouse, parent, or sponsor for someone receiving SSI.
- Individuals receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), their representative payees, and the spouse, parent(s), or sponsor of someone receiving SSI may use my Social Security to report wages online. Using their own my Social Security account, representative payees can report wages for any recipient they represent who works and receives Supplemental Security Income benefits. Spouses, parents, and sponsors of SSI recipients may also report their wages using their own my Social Security account.
- Wages may still be reported through the automated toll-free SSI Telephone Wage Reporting system or the free SSI Mobile Wage Reporting smartphone app.
- You do not need a my Social Security account to:
- Select or change the way you receive information from Social Security if you are blind or visually impaired; and
- Block electronic and automated telephone access to your personal information.
If you are a representative payee, you can:
- Use your my Social Security to complete Representative Payee Accounting Reports
- See the status of any Representative Payee Accounting Reports you must complete
- Complete Representative Payee Accounting Reports online for each person you serve
- Receive a receipt for any Reports you submit
Even if you don't get benefits, you can use a my Social Security account to get a benefit verification letter if you:
- Need a letter stating that you never received Social Security benefits, SSI, or Medicare;
- Used to get benefits and you need a letter that says when your benefits stopped or how much you received that year; or
- Applied for benefits but have not received an answer yet.
You can block online and automated telephone access to our information about you. (This service is available to everyone.)
