Visiting D.C.
Senator Toomey's office is happy to help constituents who wish to visit various historic sites and monuments in Washington, D.C. Please contact Senator Toomey's office 4-6 months in advance of your planned visit. While we cannot guarantee that tickets will always be available, Senator Toomey's staff will work to accommodate your requests. There is no cost to visiting the sites listed below. In addition to tours of various sites, Senator Toomey is pleased to provide information on visiting some of the famous monuments along the National Mall.
Please note that the summer is an especially busy time to visit Washington, D.C.
All requests for tours must be made in writing either by filling out the online Tour Request Form. If you do not hear back from Senator Toomey's office within 72 hours of submitting a request, please follow up by calling (202) 224-4254.
Please note: This office cannot accept tour requests via phone. Your request must be submitted in writing either via fax or the web form.
U.S. Capitol
Visitors to the U.S. Capitol are now able to see new exhibitions in the Capitol Visitors Center, view a brief film that tells the story of Congress, and tour the facility with professional tour guides who will give informative and interpretive tours. You will have the opportunity to view copies of our founding documents and pieces of famous legislation, a detailed history of the Capitol building, a behind-the-scenes look at the day-to-day operations of our country's legislative branch, and artifacts such as the catafalque that held President Lincoln's casket.
The Capitol Visitors Center leads professionally guided tours of the Center and the U.S. Capitol every 10 minutes from 8:50 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The Capitol is closed to tours on Sundays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Inauguration Day. You can visit the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center website to register for a tour.
If you would like to obtain gallery passes to view the chambers of the House of Representatives and Senate, please visit our Washington, DC office (248 Russell Senate Office Building) before your tour.
The White House
The White House is open for tours from Tuesday-Saturday, from 7:30am to 1:00pm. Please note that there are some days the White House will be closed due to events hosted by the President and federal holidays. Tours are self-guided and last roughly one hour. The White House is closed for tours on Sundays and Mondays.
Important Information: White House tours are limited and processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Senator Toomey's office cannot guarantee that all tour requests will be approved and the final decision is made by the White House Visitor's Office. Visitors may request specific tour dates but cannot request times.
The White House allows constituents to request up to three (3) tour dates within a 90 day calendar window. Our office suggests that you notify our office 3-6 months in advance. To initiate the tour process, please provide Senator Toomey's office with the following information:

- Full Last Name
- Phone Number
- Email Address
- Number of guests wishing to tour the White House (including children)
- Three available dates (in order of preference) during the next 90 day window
Once Senator Toomey's office receives this information, we will submit this to the White House. The White House will send you an email with a secure link, through which you will provide security information to the White House for you and your guests, as they do security screenings on all potential visitors. You will have seven days to complete the security information. Once submitted, the White House will notify you of the status of your tour two weeks before your requested date(s). Please be sure to monitor your spam or junk folder as your tour date approaches.
Bureau of Engraving & Printing
At the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, you will see how millions of dollars of US paper currency is made each day.
Tours are offered Monday through Friday, every fifteen minutes between 9-10:45 a.m. and 12:30-3:45 p.m. Large group reservations are scheduled between 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) requires tickets for all visitors. The ticket booth is located on Raoul Wallenberg Place (formerly 15th Street) and opens at 8:00 AM and closes when all tickets have been distributed. After 1:00 PM, if there are any tickets remaining, they can be picked up at the tour entrance located at 14th and C Streets, SW. Please try to arrive early as tickets go quickly.
U.S. Supreme Court 
Please be advised that there will be no Courtroom Lectures from Monday, August 17 through Friday, August 28 due to the closure of the Courtroom for maintenance and annual cleaning. When activity permits, the doors to the Courtroom will be open to allow visitors to view the room. The building will remain open to the public, and visitors may view the visitors' film and exhibitions or visit the cafeteria and gift shop.
Public tours are offered Monday through Friday, every hour on the half hour, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., when the court is not in session. Please check the Supreme Court's calendar for any changes to the tour schedule.
The court is closed on federal holidays.

Kennedy Center
The Kennedy Center is the nation's busiest preforming arts center, and regularly hosts theater, ballet, dance, and musical preformances from artists from across the nation. Tours are offered Monday through Saturday. Reserved tours are offered Mondays through Fridays at 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., and Saturdays at 9 a.m. Walk-up tours are offered every 10 minutes by a volunteer. Requests can be submitted any time.
Library of Congress
The Library of Congress offers hour-long, fully accessible docent-led tours of the historic Thomas Jefferson Building. During your tour you will learn about the Building's symbolic art and architecture and view the grandeur of the Main Reading Room.
Professionally trained docents tell the story of the Library --America's oldest cultural institution -- by talking about its history, its collections (including the Gutenberg Bible), and the services provided to Congress and the nation.
Public tours (lasting for one hour) are offered Monday-Friday every hour on the half hour, from 10:30am to 3:30pm. On Saturdays, tours are offered at 10:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm, and 2:30pm.
Arlington National Cemetery
Arlington National Cemetery is located on Memorial Drive in Arlington, VA. The cemetery's daily hours are 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (April to September); 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (October to March). It is one of two national cemeteries operated by the US Army, and is the final resting place for members of the United States Armed Forces who have died since the Civil War.
The changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier occurs each hour on the hour, and every half hour in the summer months.
The Washington Monument
The Washington Monument is closed until Spring 2019. The National Park Service is modernizing the elevator to increase long term reliability and safety.
Jefferson Memorial
Open 24 hours a day, except Christmas Day, and located at 14th Street, SW on the Tidal Basin, the Jefferson Memorial honors our 3rd President and the principal author of the Declaration of Independence. The lower lobby holds an elevator to provide access to the Memorial Chamber, restrooms, museum and bookstore/gift shop.
Lincoln Memorial
The Lincoln Memorial is open daily (except Christmas Day) and honors the memorial of our 16th President. The memorial is located at 23rd Street NW and West Potomac Park.
The Lincoln Memorial chamber is wheelchair-accessible via an elevator in the lower lobby. Wheelchairs are available for loan on a first-come, first-served basis at the Korean War Veterans memorial and Vietnam Veterans Memorial Kiosks. Restrooms are available at the Lincoln Memorial.
Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial is open 24 hours a day, and pays tribute to the invaluable contributions of this Civil Rights leader. Rangers are on duty to answer questions from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. daily and to provide interpretive programs every hour on the hour from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial
Open daily from 8:00 a.m. to midnight, and closed on Christmas Day, the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial is located at 1850 West Basin Drive, SW.
World War II Memorial
The World War II Memorial is located at 17th Street NW, between Constitution and Independence Avenues, NW. Open 24 hour a day, the World War II Memorial honors those who served in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters of the war.
Vietnam Veterans Memorial
Located at Constitution Avenue and 21st Street, NW, this memorial consists of three separate parts: the Three Soldiers statue, the Vietnam Women's Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, which is the best-known part of the memorial. It is open 24 hours a day.
Wheelchairs are available for loan on a first-come, first-served basis at the Korean War Veterans memorial and Vietnam Veterans Memorial Kiosks.
Korean War Veterans Memorial
The Korean War Veterans Memorial is located adjacent to the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool on the National Mall. It is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to midnight.
Wheelchairs are available for loan on a first-come, first-served basis at the Korean War Veterans memorial and Vietnam Veterans Memorial kiosks.
