Ed by the Numbers

Since being sworn into Congress in 2007, Ed has worked hard to be accessible for his constituents. That means hosting regular Government in the Grocery events or Telephone Town Halls as well as other events to provide information, resources and opportunity for the people in the 7th Congressional District. It also means helping constituents when they have a problem working with a federal agency, such as a lost Social Security check or trouble getting a passport. From January 2007 to March 2017, Ed has:

• Hosted 92 Government in the Grocery events
• Held 33 Telephone Town Halls
• Hosted 54 roundtable discussions or advisory board meetings
• Held more than 144 other types of events for constituents
• Helped 5,334 constituents with casework
• Sent 48 mail pieces to educate folks about what he’s working on in Washington, DC and Colorado
• Introduced 33 pieces of legislation, 9 resolutions, 21 rules and 8 amendments on behalf of the 7th District and Colorado

In 2016 alone, Ed and his staff:

• Returned $155,686 in owed benefits and savings to Coloradans
• Resolved 479 constituent cases
• Introduced 10 bills into Congress, including 3 measures signed into law
• Sent 90 letters advocating for Colorado and 7th District priorities
• Secured $33 million in grants supporting organizations, research and jobs in the 7th District
• Nominated 21 students to U.S. Service Academies
