Military service to the United States is an honor. Each year I have the privilege of selecting a group of remarkable young men and women for nomination to our four United States Military Service Academies: the United States Air Force Academy, the United States Merchant Marine Academy, the United States Military Academy, and the United States Naval Academy. While there are several ways to join the armed services, the academies offer a uniquely rewarding experience, developing both strong leadership skills, and providing an excellent undergraduate education.
Missouri has a tradition of producing outstanding military leaders. Many of these leaders, such as General John J. Pershing and General Omar Bradley, began their military careers at the service academies.
The academy application process requires that you apply both to your Congressional offices for a nomination and directly to the academies for an actual appointment. If you have not already contacted the academies, you should do so between your junior and senior years to prevent any delay in the nomination process. You will find their website links below.
