Thompson Statement on November Jobs Report

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Department of Labor’s November 2018 jobs report, which showed the economy added 155,000 jobs in November and the unemployment rate was 3.7 percent:

“Today’s report shows that 2018 has been a tremendous year of growth for the country. Wages are rising and Main Street is thriving.

“With rapid job growth, we must ensure our workforce is prepared to meet industry demands. I proudly led the effort to make the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act the law of the land so we can educate more American workers and close the skills gap.

“As we welcome the holiday season, let us all be thankful for historic tax reform that has helped our national economy to unleash its full potential. May we uphold our commitment in 2019 to supporting pro-growth policies that will bring even more prosperity to every community in the country.”
