As an appropriator, Congressman Ruppersberger can think of far better ways to spend $200 million to protect our country rather than sending our highly-skilled, highly-trained troops to the border. Here they are.

One of the leading risk factors for violent injury is a prior violent injury. In a piece published by the Baltimore Sun, Congressman Ruppersberger highlights a program created by doctors at University of Maryland Shock Trauma to reduce the “revolving door” of patients who are victims of gun violence and provide them with critical services. Congressman Ruppersberger is working on legislation to, hopefully, replicate their efforts at hospitals across the country.
