Service Academy Nomination | U.S. Representative Charlie Crist

The honor of attending a service academy comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation.

Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. service academies: U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.

Each Member may nominate up to ten individuals for each vacant academy slot allotted to our district. To request a Military Academy Nomination from our office, please complete the form below. The application process for 2018 is now open! Click HERE to download the nomination packet for 2018 and find important dates to remember below:

October 5, 2018
• Postmark deadline for submitting an application for the 2019 school year. Applications postmarked after this date will be considered late and not eligible for the current nomination cycle.

October 5-12, 2018
• Notifications to all applicants begin regarding interview appointment time. Interview space is limited; not all applicants will be selected for an interview. If you have not received notification of your interview status by Friday, October 12th, please contact our St. Petersburg office at (727) 318-6770.

October 27, 2018
• Personal interview day. Please keep the interview date open on your calendar, there are no make-up or alternate interview dates.

December 17-24, 2018
• Interview result notifications begin.
