Pretty simple, actually. It hasn't changed. The wall is a massive overkill that we don't need to spend $5 billion dollars on. Dems feel border security can be achieved by FAR more efficient means. Cute video.

What's more efficient than a physical barrier. A helicopter? More boots on the ground? Wait high tech cameras to watch people wall across the border?
-
There's a pretty detailed study about it. Short answer: yes. A physical barrier works, but of all the methods, it is the least cost efficient. It's outrageously expensive and the required maintenance would be astronomical.
-
It would still be less expensive than the cost of illegal immigration on welfare and the necessary costs to continue fighting it
-
That's not entirely accurate, but even if it were, if there are PROFOUNDLY more cost effective ways of getting the same result, so why the wall?
-
That's like paying for a security guard to sit outside your house 7 nights a week. Yea, probably costs less than losing everything you own or having the house burn down, but it's an overkill and a lot of work. Just get some good locks.
-
If I had the means that would be the exact tactic I would take to ensure the safety of myself and my family. And that is exactly the tactic I want for them and the rest of this country
-
I'm with you on the debt and healthcare. But it's all connected. Illegal immigration is like a dropping faucet on tax payers. You have to fix the things you can first.

American tax payers should NOT be responsible for a gd border wall that will not work and is ineffective! What happened to “Mexico will pay for it”?
-
It's effective in places that we have a wall. Slowing the flow of illegal immigration with a wall would pay for itself in the cost savings from welfare and other services required to assist and to resist
-
Tell Mexico to pay for it.
-
Instead of paying $5 billion for a wall, let's continue paying that much and more yearly to support illegal immigrants on welfare and the cost of deporting them and the cost to continue trying to keep them out. Great logic.

We have border security in many forms. A wall does not equate border security. This false narrative is so ridiculous. Try governing on the merit of the argument not with misleading statements.

They still do, they just don't believe in wasting money on a wall.
