Thousands of workers and retirees across the country did everything right. They worked hard for years, if not decades, to support their families and they saved for retirement by putting money into their pensions. But now, through no fault of their own, the pensions they earned could go away. That isn’t right or fair. After the 5th hearing of the 16-person bipartisan congressional committee tasked with solving the multiemployer pension crisis, we went live on Facebook to hear stories from workers and retirees about how they're impacted by the crisis and how devastating it would be for them to lose their pensions. We also heard from senators and members of Congress about the need to address this crisis. After hearing these stories, how can Congress not be moved to act? We can’t be a country where workers and retirees are left behind.
