ANDREWS, John; a Clerk from Massachusetts; born in Salem, Essex County, Mass., circa 1895; attended the public schools and Salem Commercial School, Salem, Mass.; National University (now The George Washington University) Law School, Washington, D.C., LL.B., 1925; served in the United States Army during World War I; staff, United States House of Representatives Finance Office, 1919–1923; staff, United States Representative Louis Adams Frothingham of Massachusetts, 1923–1928; staff, United States Representative Richard Bowditch Wigglesworth of Massachusetts, 1928–1929; staff, United States Representative Harry Clay Ransley of Pennsylvania, 1929–1937; staff, Office of the Clerk, United States House of Representatives, 1937–1947; elected Clerk of the United States House of Representatives for the Eightieth Congress (January 3, 1947–January 3, 1949); died on May 22, 1950, in Greenbelt, Md; interment in Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
