Biography

LATCH, Edward G., a House Chaplain; born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., January 14, 1901; A.B., Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa., 1921; B.D., Drew Theological Seminary, Madison, N.J., 1924; attended Northwestern University, Chicago, Ill.; attended American University, Washington, D.C.; ordained a Methodist minister in 1924; minister; appointed Chaplain of the United States House of Representatives for the Eighty-ninth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Reverend Bernard Braskamp, and elected for the six succeeding Congresses (March 14, 1966–October 15, 1978); died April 9, 1993, in Gaithersburg, Md.
