LANGUM, Samuel, a Postmaster from Minnesota; born in Bloomfield, Fillmore County, Minn., August 18, 1857; educated in Fillmore County schools and at Marshall, Wisconsin Academy; attended Augsberg Seminary, Minneapolis, Minn.; deputy register of deeds, Fillmore County, Minn., 1876–1880; sheriff, Fillmore County, Minn., 1880–1886; newspaper publisher; deputy warden, Minnesota state prison, 1889–1891; member of the Minnesota state senate, 1893–1895; secretary of Minnesota state senate, 1895–1907; printer; elected Postmaster of the United States House of Representatives for the Sixtieth Congress and for the succeeding Congress (December 2, 1907–April 4, 1911); editor; died in 1921, in Preston, Minn.
