The United States House of Representatives today passed a short-term Continuing Resolution (CR) to prevent a government shutdown and continue funding for critical federal programs and services through February 8, 2019. The temporary funding measure also provides $5 billion for border wall construction and $7.8 billion for disaster recovery.

The President today signed an Appropriations “minibus” funding bill which includes the Department of Defense (DOD), the Labor, Health and Human Services (LHHS) and Education Appropriations bills for fiscal year 2019, as well as a short-term Continuing Resolution (CR) to temporarily fund remaining government programs until December 7, 2018. The legislation is now enacted into law.

The U.S. House today approved an Appropriations “minibus” funding bill, which includes the Department of Defense (DOD), the Labor, Health and Human Services (LHHS) and Education Appropriations bills for fiscal year 2019, as well as a short term Continuing Resolution (CR) to temporarily fund remaining government programs until December 7, 2018. The legislation will now be sent to the White House for final approval.

The House Appropriations Committee today introduced legislation to provide all discretionary funding for the federal government for the 2018 fiscal year. The bill contains the full legislation and funding for all of the 12 annual Appropriations bills. It totals $1.3 trillion, including $78.1 billion in funding for the Global War on Terror (GWOT)/Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO). Total base funding, excluding OCO and emergencies, is $1.2 trillion.
