Humbled to be recognized as just the third honorary member in the history of the Gulf Citrus Growers Association last night in Ft. Myers. A truly memorable night for Tara and me. It has been an honor to represent you in Congress.
Congratulations to two #FL17 school districts for ranking among the best in the state. Sarasota County Schools ranked No. 1 in the state and Charlotte County was ranked the safest school district in Florida. Way to go!

It was a privilege to have the new Superintendent of West Point - The U.S. Military Academy Lieutenant General Darryl Williams and CSM Jack Love in my office to discuss the future of West Point.
Providing our military with a bigger budget improves their ability to protect our freedoms here at home. This bill also shows our servicemembers we appreciate their sacrifice and provides them with the highest pay increase in nearly a decade.

All Floridians know very well how flooding can dramatically impact our communities. That is why I supported the extension of the National Flood Insurance Program before it expires later this month.
I hope my colleagues in the Senate take flooding just as seriously and also pass this measure.
It was great to meet with the Congressional Classroom students from #FL17. These students are sharp, intelligent young minds who had good questions about life in Congress. I'm proud to represent these future leaders of America in Washington!
Living deadline to deadline isn’t how people expect businesses to operate. Our government shouldn’t operate deadline to deadline either. It’s time to end the practice of continuing resolutions in Congress. ⬇️
Baseball is America’s pastime and as you all know, Florida is a hotspot for Major League Spring Training. Earlier this year I voiced my strong support for the Atlanta Braves Spring Training Stadium project for the Florida Economic Development Council’s Deal of the Year – very cool to see this stadium go up in #FL17!
