Congressman Castro Visit to Mt. Fuji, Japan

On October 28–30, 2017, Co-Chair Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20) and Caucus member Congressman Ami Bera (CA-07) joined a three-day program of meetings focusing on US-Japan security challenges, bilateral trade and investment, and how the United States and Japan can work together in shaping the future of Asia.

The program involved a series of meetings with Japanese leadership, including Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Foreign Minister Taro Kono, and nearly 20 Diet members. The trip was organized in conjunction with the Mt. Fuji Dialogue, a high-level policy forum on US-Japan relations. The Congressional members addressed the conference and, as part of the meeting, took part in a special US-Japan Legislative Roundtable with more than a dozen senior legislators and top leaders.
