U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., praised the House today for passing the Senate’s reauthorization of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education (CTE) Act.
“I appreciate that the House acted so quickly to pass the Senate’s reauthorization of the Perkins CTE bill,” Enzi said. “The strong bipartisan support we have seen for this legislation speaks to the importance of ensuring that students have the opportunity to gain the practical skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the 21st century workforce. I look forward to the president signing this bill in the near future.”
Enzi said the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, which the Senate passed on Monday, would make important, necessary updates to career and technical education programs to give workers and students the skills they need to find high-skill, high-wage or in-demand jobs. It would be the first reauthorization of the Perkins CTE Act since 2006.
