Farmers are the backbone of the U.S. economy. In Pennsylvania alone, there are 7.75 million acres of farmland while 1 in every 7 jobs are related to agriculture. The agriculture industry in Pennsylvania has a $67 billion economic impact and 97% of farms are family owned. It is important that we continue to work towards protecting farmers and their land so they are able to strive in a lackluster economy.

As Americans, it is our responsibility to be good stewards of the environment and ensure that we protect it for many generations to come. As a member of Congress, I have voted to protect the environment while ensuring that U.S. jobs are protected.

Washington, D.C.- Today, the U.S. House of Representative passed H.R. 2, the Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018 to reauthorize farm and nutrition assistance programs for 5 years.
Washington, D.C.- This week, Congressman Tom Marino (PA-10) introduced H.R. 5640, The “WHOLE MILK Act.” H.R. 5640 would amend the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act to allow schools that participate in the National School Lunch Program to serve unflavored whole milk.
Congressman Marino also sent a letter to Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Purdue asking the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to update guidelines to the National School Lunch Program, allowing schools to sell unflavored whole milk during lunch.
Washington, D.C.- In 2017, United Airlines had 31 incidents of injuries to pets on their domestic and international flights, 18 of which resulted in the death of the animal. The most recent came when an airline attendant forced a family to put their puppy in an overhead compartment, which caused it distress and resulted in its death. After this incident, it is clear a federal law is needed to hold individuals accountable when there is no clear legal jurisdiction.
Washington D.C. – On Monday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 560, a bill introduced by Rep. Tom Marino (PA-10) to amend the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area Improvement Act.
Washington D.C.—Today, Congressman Tom Marino (PA-10) guided H.R. 3620, a bill to amend the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area Improvement Act, to unanimous bipartisan passage in the U.S. House of Representatives. This legislation allows access for certain vehicles serving residents of municipalities adjacent to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area (DWG) for five years.

Res. 22, a resolution which disapproves of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) definition of “Waters of the United States,” commonly known as the “WOTUS rule.” The measure passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 253-166 under the Congressional Review Act (CRA) which allows Congress to send this important legislation to President Obama’s desk.
