Summer internship opportunities for Senator Enzi’s D.C. office

Intern coordinator will be at UW job fair Feb. 23

February 4, 2016

U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., is encouraging college students and recent graduates to apply for a summer internship in his Washington, D.C. office. The deadline for summer applications is April 1.

“Past interns gained valuable work experience and created friendships and memories that lasted far beyond their time in the office,” Enzi said. “I encourage anyone who is interested to apply as soon as possible. Interns are an important part of my office and have the chance to meet some remarkable people, work on important projects and experience the dynamic opportunities offered by living in Washington, D.C.”

Senator Enzi’s Internship Coordinator, Dea Kollekowski, will be at the University of Wyoming’s job fair on February 23 to answer any questions and to provide necessary materials for the internship application process.

The internships, which include hands-on projects, offer an inside experience in the heart of the nation’s government. Interns are able to network, develop crucial job skills and cultivate meaningful experiences to further their education and career goals. Interns will have the opportunity to give U.S. Capitol Building tours, write hearing summaries, conduct research for legislative aides, observe floor proceedings and attend committee hearings and lectures.

Interns receive a monthly stipend to defray the cost of living in Washington, D.C. and can also coordinate receiving college credit for the internship. Priority is given to students from Wyoming, or those studying in Wyoming.

The summer 2016 internship runs from May 30 to August 19. Applicants should have achieved at least sophomore status at an accredited university or college. Individuals interested in an internship with Senator Enzi’s office should apply online. The application is available at www.enzi.senate.gov. Select the “Students” tab and click on “Internship Information.” For additional information, contact the Internship Coordinator Dea Kollekowski at (202) 224-3424 or Intern_Coordinator@enzi.senate.gov
