Recognizing selfless service

On Memorial Day, Senator Enzi commends the brave men and women in the military

May 25, 2015

Thanks to the countless sacrifices made by those who have served in our armed forces, America is still a beacon of hope and freedom in the world, said U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo. This Monday, May 25, is Memorial Day and Enzi is asking all Americans to recognize the brave men and women in the military who serve to protect and defend this great country.

“On this day and so many others I suggest that each one of us take the time to express our appreciation to those we see wearing our nation’s uniform.  Without their selfless service, this country would not be the great nation it is today,” said Enzi. “They took on one of the greatest and most difficult challenges there is – making the world a better place – and they continue to succeed.”

Since the Civil War, Memorial Day has been reserved to recognize, respect and honor America's sons and daughters who paid the ultimate price serving their country.

“Diana and I join with all our friends, family and the people of Wyoming in expressing our heartfelt appreciation to all those who have served or are serving in our nation’s military. Thanks to them, the world is a much better place. We will also say a prayer for our fallen heroes. They will never be forgotten and their service will always be remembered,” said Enzi.
