Transportation and Protective Security Subcommittee
The Transportation and Protective Security Subcommittee has sole jurisdiction over all Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security matters, including the security of passengers and cargo within the U.S. aviation system and TSA’s work to secure various modes of surface transportation such as mass transit systems, railroads, trucks, and pipelines. The Subcommittee also provides Congressional oversight of the United States Secret Service, pertaining to the agency’s dual protective and investigative missions.
John Katko (NY-24)
CHAIRMANRepresentative John Katko was elected to represent the 24th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2014 and has served as chairman of the Transportation and Protective Security Subcommittee since January 2015. Prior to being elected to public office, Representative Katko worked for twenty years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice.
