Congressman Barry Loudermilk, a Constitutional Conservative, represents Georgia’s 11th Congressional District, which includes all of Bartow and Cherokee counties as well as portions of Cobb and Fulton counties.
Congressman Loudermilk first entered public service in 2001, serving as chairman of the Bartow County Republican Party until 2004. With a reputation as one of Georgia’s foremost conservative leaders, Loudermilk was then elected to serve in the Georgia House of Representatives from 2004 -2010 and the Georgia State Senate from 2011- 2013. Some of his recognitions as a legislator include, Georgia Wing Legislator of the Year and National Legislator of the Year by the Civil Air Patrol (2006 and 2012), Legislator of the Year by Advocates for Children (2007), “50 Most Influential Georgians” by James Magazine (2008), Sanctity of Life Award by the Bartow Republican Women’s Club (2010), Legislator of the Year by Technology Association of Georgia (2011), American Conservative Union “Defender of Liberty” Award (2012, 2013). During his time in the Georgia State Senate, Loudermilk served as Chairman of the Senate Science and Technology Committee and Secretary of the Veterans, Military and Homeland Security and Public Safety Committees. He was also a member of the Senate Transportation Committee. In the Georgia House of Representatives, Loudermilk served as Secretary of the Transportation and Energy Utilities and Telecommunications Committees. He also served as a member of the Science and Technology and Health and Human Services Committees. In the 114th Congress, Rep. Loudermilk currently serves as a member of two influential U.S. House Committees, including Homeland Security, and Space, Science and Technology. A Georgia native, Rep. Loudermilk holds an Associate degree in Telecommunications Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education and Information Systems Technology. He also proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. Loudermilk is a small business owner and a motivational speaker, and is on the Board of Directors for Barley Loaf Ministries and Firm Reliance. He recently published a book called “And Then They Prayed” featuring inspirational stories from America’s history. Barry Loudermilk and his wife Desiree have been married for 32 years. They reside in Cassville, Georgia, and have three grown children – Travis, Christiana and Michael, as well as a daughter-in-law, Sarah, and a granddaughter. |
