Families in Southern Illinois and throughout America have reached unsurpassed levels of prosperity with ingenuity and innovation. However, Washington has operated for far too long under the faulty policy of throwing more taxpayer money at inefficient programs. In my discussions with constituents around Southern Illinois, the economy and jobs remain the top concern, regardless of political ideology. Washington must stop spending money it doesn’t have and focus its efforts on creating opportunities for job growth.

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Mike Bost (IL-12) today voted for the House-Senate compromise Agriculture and Nutrition Act (H.R.2), commonly known as the Farm Bill. The House legislation, which authorizes agricultural and nutrition policy for the next five years, includes provisions Bost introduced to aid beginning farmers in growing their operations and help existing farmers enhance their nutrient management practices.
