The Week Ahead

Monday, December 3

• The House will meet to consider resolutions pertaining to the lying in state of the 41st President of the United States, George H.W. Bush. No votes are expected in the House.
• Unless Congress Acts and passes a spending bill, the Federal government will shut down at midnight on Friday, December 7.
• Key votes this week include H.R. 2, the Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018, and possible consideration of legislation making further appropriations for FY2019.
• Visitors to the office include representatives of the National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association.

Tuesday, December 4

• The House will not be in session in order to accommodate the memorial and funeral services of former President George H.W. Bush.
• Visitors to the office include representatives of the Kentucky National Guard and the National Association of Home Builders.
• 7:00 PM: The Louisville Cardinals Women’s Basketball team takes on the University of Tennessee at Martin. Go Cards!

Wednesday, December 5

• Members of the Democratic Caucus will meet to discuss legislative strategy.
• The House will reconvene at Noon and consider several noncontroversial measures under suspension of the rules.
• Rep. Yarmuth will meet with representatives of the Pharmaceutical Printed Literature Association.
• Additional visitors to the office include representatives of the Farm Credit Council and an AIDS/HIV advocacy partnership that includes AIDS United, the National Minority AIDS Council (NMAC), the AIDS Institute, the National Coalition of STD Directors (NCSD), and the National Alliance of State & Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD).
• 7:00 PM: The Louisville Cardinals Men’s Basketball team takes on Central Arkansas. Go Cards!

Thursday, December 6

• The House will meet at 10:00 a.m. for Morning Hour debate, 12:00 p.m. for legislative business, and is expected to consider a conference report to accompany H.R. 2, the Agriculture and Nutrition Act or 2018, legislation that would reauthorize agriculture and food assistance programs for five years.

Friday, December 7

• The House will meet at 9:00 a.m. for legislative business and is expected to complete consideration of all legislation for the week.
