I’m alarmed the VA would not spend funds Congress allocated for suicide prevention outreach when 20 veterans die by suicide each day. President Trump has touted his administration’s commitment to reducing veteran suicide so he must hold those, who callously dismissed this sacred duty, accountable. I call on the president and his administration to answer for the irresponsible findings.

Veterans, who served our country shouldn’t have to wait for the benefits they earned because the VA’s IT issues. Today, in a special meeting of the Veterans' Affairs Committee, I asked the Undersecretary for Benefits at the VA whether he believed students receiving GI Bill benefits were owed money and if they would be paid. I also echoed what I wrote to the VA this month: They must communicate changes and updates to veterans and beneficiaries.
