Payne, Lance Lead Group of 94 House Members in Urging CMS to Protect Access to Live-Saving Colorectal Cancer Screenings
WASHINGTON, D.C. – A bipartisan group of 94 House members, led by Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. (NJ-10) and Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07), sent a letter to the acting administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Andrew Slavitt, expressing concerns about proposed cuts in Medicare payments for colorectal cancer screenings and colonoscopies.
WASHINGTON, DC --- Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) tonight hailed House passage of H.R. 1624, the Protecting Affordable Coverage for Employees Act, sponsored by Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02). The legislation, which came from the House Energy and Commerce Committee on which Guthrie and Lance serve, will protect employees from the potential of cancelled health plans and rising health care premiums. The measure will also authorize $205 million for the Medicare Improvement Fund, which was cut by the President’s health care legislation.
