Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Mike Enzi and John Barrasso, both R-Wyo., said that newly appointed United States Marshal for the District of Wyoming Joseph Moore is extremely qualified for the important position.

Moore was confirmed by the Senate to the appointment on Dec. 20.

“Director Moore has a track record of dedicated service to the state and federal government. I look forward to him continuing his work through this new position. The U.S. Marshals Service has a long, distinguished history in our state and I applaud Joe’s appointment to head this agency in Wyoming,” Enzi said.

“I applaud Director Moore’s appointment to be U.S. Marshal for Wyoming. Director Moore’s years of experience with the FBI and running the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security make him an invaluable asset to the U.S. Marshals Service. I worked with Joe when I was in the Wyoming legislature. He's the right person for the job,” Barrasso said.

Moore has served as the director of the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security since 2003. During his service, he has worked closely with the state, local and federal officials to respond to and coordinate responses to several major natural disasters. He has also worked to improve Wyoming’s homeland security efforts and state and local law enforcement activities. Prior to his service to the State of Wyoming, he spent 32 years serving in federal law enforcement.
