Congressman Jim Cooper

Representing the 5th District of Tennessee

Art Competition

Each spring, Members of the U.S. House of Representatives sponsor a nationwide high school arts competition. The Artistic Discovery Contest is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our congressional district.

The Artistic Discovery Contest is open to all high school students in the 5th District, and we have a lot of talented students in our area. The winner's  of our district's competition will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. The exhibit in Washington will also include artwork from contest winners across the country. The first place candidate must be able to participate in the national awards reception in Washington D.C. Round-trip airfare will be provided.

The deadline for getting student artwork to the office is Friday, April 27th at 5pm (605 Church Street, Nashville, TN).

Details for the Awards Presentation will be announced soon!
