House Appropriations Chairman Rodney Frelinghuysen today introduced a bill to provide additional emergency assistance for recent hurricanes, wildfires in California, and related agriculture losses. The bill, H.R. 4667, totals $81 billion, and targets funds to programs to continue relief and recovery efforts in all of the affected communities, including in Texas, Florida, California, Louisiana, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

House Appropriations Chairman Rodney Frelinghuysen today introduced legislation to fully fund national defense programs for the entire fiscal year (including emergency funding for missile defense activities), to continue the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and to maintain current federal operations and prevent a government shutdown (H.J. The House of Representatives today passed a package of funding bills (H.R. 3354) to provide all discretionary funding for the federal government for the 2018 fiscal year. The package of bills contains the full legislation and funding for all of the 12 annual Appropriations bills, and totals $1.2 trillion, including $87 billion in funding for Global War on Terror (GWOT)/Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO). This legislation funds critical federal programs such as our national defense, invests in proven and effective government activities, and helps reduce unnecessary and wasteful spending.

The House of Representatives today approved a final bill to provide additional emergency assistance to respond to Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, to raise the debt ceiling to allow the United States to meet its financial obligations, and to allow for the continuation of vital government programs and services. The legislation will now be sent to the President for his signature.
