ROSEN VOTES AGAINST HARMFUL BANKING BILL THAT WOULD UNDERMINE CONSUMER PROTECTIONS FOR NEVADA FAMILIES

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) voted against S. 2155, legislation that would allow banks to return to engaging in risky behavior and roll back provisions that protect consumers from predatory and discriminatory lending.
 

“A decade ago when the housing crisis crippled our state’s economy, Congress passed Wall Street reform and took measurable steps to prevent the predatory lending practices that led to foreclosure signs across my district,” said Rosen. “Republicans in Congress are now trying to undo these protections, potentially leaving Nevada homeowners vulnerable to the same reckless and discriminatory practices that harmed so many hardworking families during the recession. While I support providing relief and flexibility for small community banks and credit unions that lend to small businesses, our focus should be strengthening Wall Street reform and holding big financial institutions accountable - not eroding that progress.”
