Dear Friends,
I am very fortunate to have an incredible staff. They are smart and dedicated, and work day in and day out to support the people of Rhode Island. Your priorities shape my priorities, and my team works to best represent your interests in Congress. Ultimately, it all comes down to one voice.
Yours.
Feedback from constituents is essential for me to be an effective leader and legislator, and I am always looking for new ways to engage Rhode Islanders. My office is always accessible, and I use my website, social media and this newsletter to keep you informed. But I can never stop improving outreach, and I recently embarked on a new initiative to further involve constituents in their representation.
Starting this month, I am rolling out seven advisory committees made up of business leaders, community groups and constituents with expertise in each area. My advisory committees will focus on the food economy, economic development, veterans, seniors, housing, the arts and diversity issues. These committees will meet to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing each group, and the members will serve as my trusted advisors.
Your voice matters and I hope you will continue to share your ideas with me. To learn more about my work, follow me on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
Sincerely,
