Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., was recognized this week by the National Farmers Union (NFU) for his leadership on key issues that directly affect family farmers and ranchers.

Enzi received the Golden Triangle Award, the NFUs highest form of recognition for government service, for his ongoing support for mandatory country-of-origin labeling, restoring competitive livestock markets and enacting fairer trade policies. This is Enzi’s third consecutive year receiving the award.

“An important part of my work in the Senate is focused on helping provide farmers and ranchers an environment where they can make a living doing what they do best -- put food on our tables. Through drought, market fluctuation and other natural disasters it is important to stand by our farmers and ranchers to make sure they have the assistance they need,” said Enzi.

The National Farmers Union is a general farm organization representing a quarter of a million family farmers and ranchers nationwide. NFU serves its membership by providing educational opportunities, by supporting farmer-owned cooperative development and by presenting the organization’s policies to lawmakers at the local, state and national levels.
