Washington, D.C. – The office of Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo, helped Torrington High School get five computers as part of the Computers for Learning Program. The program was developed to allow the donation of surplus federal computer equipment to schools and educational non-profit organizations.

According to District Technology Coordinator Jamie Haymaker, the computers will be used in new labs in the high school.

Torrington High School signed up for the program in May 2003. This is the first time they have been awarded the computers. Financial need and the length of time schools or non-profits have been signed up for the program are considered when distributing computers.

Enzi encourages schools that may be interested in the Computers for Learning program to register online at www.computers.fed.gov.
