President releases federal disaster relief funds

Delegation: Aid will provide certainty for residents of Wright

August 22, 2005

Washington, D.C. – Sens. Craig Thomas, Mike Enzi, and Rep. Barbara Cubin announced today that the President has declared a major disaster for the State of Wyoming, which triggers the release of Federal funds to Campbell County to help them recover from damage resulting from the tornado.

“We are pleased this important funding is now available for Wright. We saw first-hand the tremendous damage to the town from the tornado. We hope this funding provides some of the necessary assistance to families and individuals in need – especially folks with no insurance. This is great news for a community who has gone through a lot these last 10 days. We’re pleased to see the Wyoming community come together for the town of Wright,” the delegation said.

The delegation contacted the President in support of federal assistance for Wyoming and for the town of Wright.

Under the declaration, Campbell County receives benefits under the Individual Assistance program and Wyoming receives benefits under Hazard Mitigation program. Disaster victims can contact FEMA through their toll-free Tele-registration number: 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), TTD 1-800-462-7585.
