Washington, D.C. – Wyoming’s Congressional delegation said today that mail correspondence with their Washington offices may be slower this week due to security concerns about mail facilities in the area.

The United States Postal Service has temporarily ceased delivery of mail and packages to all government offices including Congress. The temporary delay is caused by the detection of potentially hazardous materials at a Pentagon mail facility recently.

Mail already en route to Washington government offices, although delayed, should eventually reach its destination but e-mail and fax is preferred for quicker delivery, according to the delegation. All offices are still available by phone.
