Washington, D.C. - Worland is set to receive grant funding from the Federal Aviation Administration for local airport improvements, according to U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo.

The City of Worland is scheduled to receive $3 million for the initial phase of construction to increase a runway safety area. The area will be graded to accommodate standards for larger aircraft and shifted to decrease the likelihood of items obstructing the free area and runway protection zone, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. The parallel taxiway will also be reconstructed and extended.
