It's one of our favorite times of the year - high school football playoffs! In Texas, we know that means early morning practices, decking out in school colors, and braving the cold to watch our players leave it all out on the field for a shot at the state title.

In case you missed it, last week, I sent out a letter asking veterans in our district to share their stories with me all month long in honor of Veterans Day. Servicemen and women in this nation have sacrificed a great deal for our freedoms, and I am humbled to represent them in Congress.

FORT HOOD, Texas — Congressman Roger Williams attended a ceremony Friday on Fort Hood to honor former prisoners of war and those missing in action.
The POW/MIA Recognition Day ceremony was held at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center and included a special wreath-laying.
His platform is the same as it has always been: lower taxes, less government, cut the spending, defend the borders, listen to your generals, understand the 10th amendment and stand with Israel.
That’s what Rep. Roger Williams is all about.
“Our platform is always that,” Williams said. “We never get out of that.”
Senior leaders from Fort Hood joined Army leadership and Texas state officials on Friday in standing up the new U.S. Army Futures Command in Austin.
The command is expected to employ about 500 people, primarily civilians, and will operate out of the University of Texas System’s new downtown headquarters, which is surrounded by nearby startups and tech incubators.
