Washington, D.C.—The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) recently awarded two grants totaling nearly $1.4 million, one to the Wyoming County Commissioners Association, and one to the Wyoming Department of Corrections, according to U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo.

The U.S. Department of Justice's office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention has awarded $1,229,200 to the Wyoming County Commissioners Association in Cheyenne. The money will be used to deal with the state's ability to process juvenile offenders and improve juvenile delinquency prevention efforts.

The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) Office of Justice Programs has awarded the Wyoming Department of Corrections $121,529 from the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP). SCAAP funds are used to defray costs associated with the incarceration of criminal illegal aliens.
