Washington, D.C. – The Boys and Girls Club of Campbell County recently received a grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention in the U.S. Department of Justice, according to U.S. Senator Mike Enzi.

As the fiscal agent for the Juvenile Services Partnership Coalition in Campbell County, the Boys and Girls Club will receive almost $75,000 to continue work on its and the Coalition's main goals of reducing substance abuse among youth and strengthening community anti-drug coalitions.

To achieve these goals the coalition will implement several strategies. One strategy would offer participation in Boys and Girls Club programs as an alternative sentencing option to the courts of Campbell County. Other strategies include providing drug, alcohol, tobacco, violence and teenage pregnancy prevention to Boys and Girls Club programming, and developing a funding mechanism for youth programs through community partnerships between government, industry and private donations.
