Quigley Goes “Undercover” at Elmhurst Restaurant HB Jones

Mar 29, 2013
Press Release

CHICAGO – Yesterday, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) put on a chef’s coat and picked up a spatula to work the kitchen at Elmhurst restaurant HB Jones as part of his first Undercover Congressman event in the new section of Illinois’ 5th Congressional District.

“Going undercover at local businesses is an incredible opportunity to meet new constituents and hear from small business owners and their employees,” said Quigley. “As HB Jones is relatively new to Elmhurst, owners Bob Ceddia and Anthony Gambino have a unique insight on how government can help entrepreneurs navigate the challenges of starting a new business.”

While touring the restaurant, which opened last year on the south side of Elmhurst, Quigley flipped burgers, salted fries and made quesadillas in the kitchen during the lunch rush hour. HB Jones is an adventure-themed restaurant that serves American-style cuisine to customers in the greater Elmhurst area. For more information, please visit www.hamburgerjones.com.

Since taking office in 2009, Quigley has performed a wide range of jobs including delivering mail and pizzas, icing cakes at Dinkel’s Bakery, cleaning pens as a zookeeper at the Lincoln Park Zoo, and picking up garbage and recycling with sanitation departments. Quigley’s Undercover Congressman series has been featured on NBC5 Chicago and in Roll Call and the New York Times.
