Object Details

Representative Robert Matsui spent his early years in an internment camp and served in the House for more than two decades. He was eulogized in a ceremony that followed his death in office in 2005. The memorial service’s program listed colleagues from both sides of the aisle who admired his career. One speaker, former President Bill Clinton, noted that Matsui embodied “everything that was right with America.”
