Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., is hosting two conferences this month to provide Wyoming's inventors and entrepreneurs with the information they need to expand and develop their businesses and ideas.

Inventors Workshop

Enzi is hosting a conference called the, "Inventors Workshop: From Your Garage to the Assembly Line" on Feb. 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Best Western Tower West Lodge in Gillette.

The workshop, which is free and open to the public, will feature informative discussions on how to turn ideas into profit, and will cover, among other topics, marketing options for inventors, business plans and an introduction to intellectual property.

Scott Olsen, the inventor of the Rollerblade and Rowbike, will be the keynote speaker at a no-host lunch at 12 p.m.

Those planning to attend, or who need more information, should contact Enzi's Gillette office by phone at (307) 682-6268 or by email at robin_bailey@enzi.senate.gov.

Small Business Conference

Enzi is also co-hosting the 3rd Annual Wyoming Government Procurement Opportunities for Small Business Conference scheduled to take place at the Cam-plex in Gillette Feb. 18-19. Registration for the conference is open through Feb. 19.

Enzi said the event will help small business owners learn about government contracting and will give them the opportunity to talk to more than 60 federal and state contracting representatives.

"The procurement conference has been a wonderful success the past two years. I'm excited to have this opportunity once again to help the people of Wyoming capitalize on their ideas," said Enzi.

Enzi launched the procurement conference in 2002 with help from Government Resources and Opportunities for Business (GRO-Biz), which is co-hosting the conference again.

GRO-Biz, a partnership among the University of Wyoming, Wyoming Business Council and the Defense Logistics Agency, counsels and assists Wyoming businesses in the selling of their services and products to national, state and local governments. The U.S. Small Business Administration's Wyoming District office and various other resource offices have also assisted in the planning of the conference.
