Washington, D.C. – A Wyoming housing initiative is set to receive federal grant money from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, according to U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo.

The Wyoming Partners in Homebuyer Education is expected to receive $50,000 to help provide a homebuyer education course for prospective housing applicants. The course intends to cover areas of interest for prospective homebuyers and is expected to assist over 3,300 prospective homebuyers in Wyoming over the next two years.

The funding comes from a USDA Rural Development grant program that provides eligible applicants with homeownership and financial counseling to reduce both the potential for delinquency by loan applicants and the level of payment delinquency by current Rural Development housing loan borrowers. It also helps facilitate the delivery of housing programs to serve the most needy low-income families in rural areas of greatest need for housing.
