Washington, D.C. – A Thayne community initiative is set to receive federal grant money from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, according to U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo.

The Lincoln Unita Child Development Association is expected to receive 15,000 to help purchase a 26-passenger bus for use by the Head Start program in Thayne.

The funding comes from the USDA Rural Development grant program. Funds from the program can be used to construct, enlarge, extend or otherwise improve essential community facilities including, among other things, health services, child day care facilities, community, social or cultural services, food storage and distribution services, or the purchasing of major equipment to provide an essential service to rural residents.
