Washington, D.C. – Five Wyoming communities have been chosen to receive National Park Service grants for outdoor recreation initiatives, according to U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo.

A total of $138,499 in matching grants has been awarded to Pinedale, LaGrange, Rawlins, Dubois and Teton County from the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF).

"This grant money is exciting news for these communities because it will help them provide and improve recreation opportunities for their residents now that could last for years to come," said Enzi.

Funding for the communities includes: Pinedale - $16,974 for American Legion Park Trails; LaGrange - $15,053 for fairgrounds/park improvements; Rawlins - $56,750 for an outdoor shooting complex; Dubois - $42,912 for park enhancement; Teton County - $6,810 for the Miller Park Internal Walking Path.

The LWCF state-side grants help state and local governments acquire, develop, improve, and maintain high quality outdoor recreation areas and open space to help assure that the recreation opportunities provided will be available for all Americans to enjoy.
