Bennet encourages Colorado families to Visit Federal Lands

Every Kid in a Park Program allows 4th Graders Free Access to Federal Lands

Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Michael Bennet is encouraging families with fourth graders to take advantage of the opportunity to visit federal lands for free. The Every Kid in a Park Program, launched this month, allows America's fourth graders to visit the new Every Kid in a Park website to register for a pass to visit our nation's beautiful public lands and waters. The program can help get kids outside to hike, fish, and enjoy the scenery with their families. It's also a unique chance for kids to learn about the rich culture and history our state has to offer.

"Our kids are lucky to live in one of the most beautiful states in the country, and even the world," Bennet said. "The program gives parents the opportunity to combine education with outdoor activities for their kids, while fostering a better understanding and close bond with the environment and an appreciation for wildlife."

The program is part of an overall strategy by the administration to engage young people from all ages and all backgrounds with the great outdoors. The free passes can be used through August 31, 2016.
