Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., expressed his deep condolences today to the family and friends of Senate colleague Senator Paul Wellstone, D-Minn., who died today with his wife and daughter in a plane crash in Minnesota.

Enzi said he had the opportunity to serve with Senator Wellstone on several Senate committees.

"Paul and I may have approached problems differently, but we were able to resolve many issues out of mutual respect. I admired his passion and sincerity. He was ardent in his views and was more involved in floor debate than any other Senator. His presence in the Senate family will be sorely missed."
