Under the category of catching up with votes, before we headed home to respective districts the House voted on H.R. 2083, which is a bill that would allow nearly a thousand sea lions to be taken (or killed) each year in the Columbia River system in order to better protect the endangered salmon population.

Today, the House voted on the 2019 National Defense Authorization Conference Report, which passed 358 to 54. I voted for it because it was in line with the House National Defense Authorization bill I supported back in May.
Today, the House passed House Amendment to S. 1182, the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Extension of 2018, which represents a clean four-month extension of the NFIP. I voted yes on the bill, which passed 366 to 52 because while reform is vital with the Flood Insurance Program, not allowing the program to lapse is equally vital in the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
