Providing Certainty for People with Disabilities

We have a responsibility as a nation to ensure that our family, friends and members of our community with disabilities are provided equal access and accommodations everywhere they go. When necessary accommodations are not available, individuals should not have to face a burdensome and resource consuming process to make legitimate compliance claims. We must protect businesses from frivolous lawsuits, however we must do so in a manner that protects and respects individuals with disabilities and maintains the spirit of ADA. I remain committed to working with the business community to implement common-sense measures to deter fraudulent law suits while protecting the rights of individuals with disabilities to receive reasonable accommodations.
